Nanobubble Reap The Vannamei Shrimp Big Harvests At BPBAP Situbondo

04 Apr 2019 11:20:20 | Dilihat 156 kali harvested the vaname shrimp at the Vaname Shrimp Multiplication Centre of Brackish Aquaculture Fisheries Centre (Balai Budidaya Perikanan Air Payau / BPBAP) Gelung, Situbondo on Tuesday, March 26 2019. This activity was an implementation part of the Industrial Technology Development Program (Program Pengembangan Teknologi Industri / PPTI) 2018-2019 of Kemenristekdikti (Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education).

The harvest was attended by the Head of BPBAP Situbondo Ir. Ujang Komarudin, M.Sc and staff, field foreman Wendy Tri Prabowo, S.Pi., M.Sc, inventor Prof. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman, M. Eng., Ph.D, representatives of Physics Research Center LIPI Agus Suheri, S. T, and a news coverage team from Trans TV.

After conducting an initial implementation test which started in December 2018, the application of nanobubble technology on vaname shrimp culture resulted in significant results, which increase crop productivity by 4 times compared to the conventional (non-nanobubble) systems. In addition, the survival rate of white shrimp reaches 95%.

According to the Head of BPBAP Situbondo, the nanobubble technology is expected to be implemented by vaname shrimp farmers in Situbondo and throughout Indonesia to increase shrimp productivity.

The statement was explained further by Prof. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman, M.Eng., Ph.D: “If 800 post larval shrimps/m3 are reared in a 50 m3 pond, or approximately 40,000 shrimps per pond, it will produce about 400 kg shrimp with 50-60 size. Likewise, if 500 post larval shrimps/m3 are reared in a 1,000 m3 pond, it will produce about 6-7 tonnes shrimp per harvest”.

“One harvest period takes about 3 months with 350 million IDR revenue. So it is 1.4 billion revenues a year”, he continued.
